FWIW, to repeat what you say back to you :-) I heave read elsewhere that just as the economy shifted from physical labor to cognitive labor in the 20th century, so also it shall shift from cognitive to emotional labor in the 21st, the idea being that AI is automating much of cognitive labor and servvice-industry labor (reading medical x-rays, driving cars, cashiers, etc). An ongoing issue is that most of economic theory still does not recognize or know how to value emotional labor (as you already point out).
